In Podgora there is a colorful harbor for fishing boats, and a promenade with a beautiful stone waterfront. On the hill above the port there is the monument 'Seagull's Wings', erected in 1962 to commemorate the founding of the victorious anti-fascist Dalmatian navy in World War II. Podgora was first mentioned in 1477.

  Podgora has been a well-known fishing center since ancient times. Even today, the port is full of trawlers and other fishing boats that give Podgora a special color. To the east of Podgora continues the settlement of Čaklje with a beach and a newly built port for ships.

Touristic Podgora harmoniously integrated new facilities and hotels into the existing settlement of old fishermen's houses. The courtyards of holiday homes and apartments are full of Mediterranean plants and fruits: oranges, lemons and tangerines.

 The people of Podgora didn't even leave their old village near Biokovo. They connected it with a modern road, maintain ancient olive groves and vineyards, restore their heritage, often bringing their guests to enjoy the beautiful views, local specialties and wines. In old Podgora, there is a beautiful church of All Saints, where the widely known feast of St. Vicenza on the first Sunday after Assumption.
